S. Allardyce will try to convince J. Terry to return to the England national team

The new England national team coach Sam Allardyce will try to convince Chelsea club veteran John Terry to return to the national team.

The 35-year-old center-back announced the end of his career in the England national team back in September 2012. However, S. Allardyce is determined to at least invite the experienced Englishman for the World Cup qualifying stage.

Asked if there is a possibility for J. Terry to return to the national team, S. Allardyce replied: "I do not know all the circumstances. If he withdrew from the national team due to some governance actions, I will have to talk to them. But certainly John Terry has the opportunity to return to the national team."

"A lot will depend on John himself. If I get the chance to invite him, I think I will do it. But we still have to wait for the start of the qualification stage, and then we will see," added the strategist.

In total, J. Terry has played 78 matches for the England national team.
