Sven Bender urged his teammate Leon Bailey to stay in Leverkusen's "Bayer" ranks despite the interest of powerful English clubs.
The winger from Jamaica has been playing well this season and has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 24 "Bundesliga" matches.
Recently, another talent, Julian Brandt, linked his future with "Bayer," so Bender hopes that the 20-year-old will follow in his footsteps.
"He has special qualities - he is incredibly fast and dribbles very well. However, we did not expect him to adapt so quickly. This example shows that the pace of football is very high," Bender told Goal.com.
"It is important that he copes with the attention he receives and does not start wanting too many things too soon. Now everyone wants everything from him."
"He is only 20 years old, so he still has the potential to improve. He is a great player and will probably leave for a large sum one day, but I want him to stay with us for a long time."
Bender added that although the current situation with inflated transfer sums in the market is "unreal," players should not be blamed for it.
