The star of the French national team Dimitri Payet will stay at "West Ham" club, says the chief "hammers" strategist Slaven Bilic.
The 29-year-old footballer became one of the biggest discoveries in the English Premier League last season, and he also demonstrates excellent form with the national team at the 2016 European Championship. He has scored three accurate shots on goal.
S. Bilic understands very well that after such a season, many famous clubs are targeting D. Payet, but he does not want to see the Frenchman in another team and is convinced that they will work together next season as well.
"There is no doubt that Payet is one of the brightest stars of the European Championship," said S. Bilic. "After such exceptional moments in his career, I understand very well that other clubs are interested in him. He is a key player in our club, capable of solving problems on his own, so I don't want to see him leaving the club."
"I wish and hope that he will score hat-tricks in the semifinals and final. I know that a big club would then approach us, but I want to keep him in the 'West Ham' team. Over the past three weeks, I have talked to him and he said he is happy at the club. Payet is our player," added the strategist.
Last season, the Frenchman played 38 matches for "West Ham", scored 12 goals, and made 15 assists.
