Former long-time "Valencia" goalkeeper Santiago Canizares was shocked by the result of yesterday's match and demands the resignation of head coach Gary Neville.
In the first semifinal match of the King's Cup, "Valencia" suffered a humiliating defeat against "Barcelona" with a score of 7-0. Four goals from Luis Suarez and three from Lionel Messi were scored against Valencia's goal.
The former footballer cannot remember when Valencia has experienced such disgrace and immediately wants to see the inexperienced Englishman step down.
"This is the worst defeat for Valencia since I knew about this club. These failures cannot be compared to losses against "Karlsruhe" (1993, 7-0) or "Salamanca" (1995, 4-0)," wrote the 46-year-old Spaniard on his Twitter account.
"I hope for the coach's resignation and apology. Maybe I still don't know, but I am surprised why he didn't do it right after the match.
"If, as sports director Garcia Pitarch mentioned, Gary Neville is trusted, I am very disappointed. If it turns out that Pitarch lied, I hope he and the coach will leave their positions together," Canizares did not hide his disappointment.
