Santi Cazorla finally starts to recover from his Achilles injury and hopes to put on the London "Arsenal" jersey again, before leaving the team under Arsene Wenger.
The Spaniard had to deal with a constantly recurring ankle injury for 18 months, and even had to have part of his skin grafted due to an infection in that area.
The last game he played was back in October 2016, but now he is optimistic about his chances of returning to the field.
"I still have some way to go, because after spending 18 months outside the field, everything must come in its own time," Cazorla told "AS".
"However, I feel that my condition is improving, and I am optimistic about the future.
My goal is to return to the team before the end of the season, but we have to be cautious about everything."
Cazorla has not lost his love for football despite a really unsuccessful period.
"After staying outside the field for so long, it will take some time to regain form, which is really difficult, but when you don't play for as long as I have, you start to notice pains elsewhere - not to mention what I experienced with my tendon," added the Spaniard.
"However, this means that I am doing everything right, and I hope to return as soon as possible."
Before leaving the field, Cazorla was one of the most important players for "Arsenal".
