S. Conceicao: "I am responsible for this result" © AFP

"AC Milan" unexpectedly ended their UEFA Champions League campaign on Tuesday.

The Italian club drew 1:1 at home in the second leg of the knockout stage against Feyenoord, but the Dutch club advanced to the quarter-finals by winning the first match by a narrow margin.

The pivotal moment in the match occurred in the 51st minute when AC Milan player Theo Hernandez received his second yellow card for simulation.

Following the defeat, the coach of the Milan club, Sergio Conceicao, took responsibility.

One could say that the referee was a bit too strict in that episode, but we need to be stronger psychologically. I am responsible for this result, not Theo Hernandez. We will continue to sort things out within the club."

Theo has given a lot to this club. I have made many mistakes myself during my career. Before the red card, the opponents had no chance to score. We are very disappointed and angry," said S. Conceicao.
