S. Eriksson working in China: no one will deny that money in football is the main factor

The head coach of "Shanghai SIPG" from Sweden, Sven-Goran Eriksson, is not surprised by Chinese clubs spending money and claims that they may succeed in attracting yet another famous world footballer.

This winter, Chinese clubs shook the football player market. Players such as Ramires, Jackson Martinez, and Alex Teixeira moved to the East. Chinese clubs collectively paid a total of 92 million euros for the latter two players.

A former England national team coach, currently working in the highest Chinese football league club, believes that another famous footballer could come to China, as money is the main factor in today's football.

"You cannot deny that money is now the most important factor," S. Eriksson said. - Asian Champions League is dominated by teams from Japan, South Korea, and Australia, but Scolario's Guangzhou "Evergrande" triumphed twice in the last three seasons.

Football is constantly shown on TV here. Not only UEFA Champions League and Premier League championship, but also other European championships. The Chinese Super League is a new league that can attract famous players. Football is improving here, and even the Chinese national team has ambitions," said the 68-year-old specialist.

However, S. Eriksson also identified the main problems for arriving footballers: "The biggest problem is the language barrier, as Europeans find it very difficult to learn Chinese. It is a bit easier in big cities because people there can speak English a little."
