S. Eto'o: "I told Guardiola that I, not Messi, will bring titles to Barca"

Samuel Eto'o, who has traveled almost all of Europe during his career, recalled the stage of his career with Pep Guardiola.

The former Cameroon national team striker played one of the most productive periods of his career in Guardiola's debut season - the African scored 36 goals in 52 matches for "Barcelona."

Even a great season in Barcelona did not guarantee S. Eto'o a place in the starting lineup, so in 2009 he decided to move to Inter Milan, where he also became the team's leader.

"I told Guardiola that he would apologize to me later, because the man who brought titles to Barcelona will not be Messi, but me," - said the African in a "BeIN Sports" broadcast.

"At that time, the situation was different - Messi was not as prominent yet. You can ask Xavi or Iniesta and they will say that it was my era. Pep lived his whole life in Barcelona, but at that time, I felt that he didn't really understand our group. He didn't really like the way of life in our team," - added S. Eto'o.

During his time at Barcelona, S. Eto'o won the UEFA Champions League twice and became the Spanish champion three times.
