Not long ago, former professional footballer Steven Gerrard, who ended his career recently, didn't seek new work for a long time - the 36-year-old "Liverpool" club legend will work in the youth academy of this team.
The media immediately started spreading rumors after S. Gerrard's career ended that the Englishman will start a coaching career. Initially, it was thought that the former defender could become one of Jurgen Klopp's assistants, but the English football legend will start his coaching career with children's football.
"I feel as if this is a circle of life - I'm returning to the place where my career began. This decision was not made from an emotional standpoint, it's the best I could offer to Liverpool," said S. Gerrard.
In total, S. Gerrard played 710 matches for the Liverpool club and scored 186 goals. Once, the Englishman triumphed in the UEFA Champions League, but he never won the Premier League title with the "Reds."
After the news that S. Gerrard will start his coaching career in the Liverpool club's academy, another legend of this club, Jamie Carragher, jokingly commented that his former team-mate made the right decision to start his career with children, not football clubs, as we saw with Gary Neville.
Great news & good luck Stevie because this coaching lark isn't easy ask Neville! https://t.co/4026LxUb1C — Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) January 20, 2017
