S. Giovinco: Nobody Believed in Me in Italy

The new "Toronto FC" acquisition Sebastian Giovinco says that in Italy no one believed in his abilities, so now the striker in the MLS league wants to start everything from scratch.

The decision of the 28-year-old footballer to move across the Atlantic was quite unexpected, but the Italian nicknamed "atomic ant" says he won't miss home.

"I had troubles in Italy. People always talked about me as a player who couldn't compete at the highest level, even though I have proven many times that it is not true," Giovinco said at a press conference.

"I wanted to find a city and a team that would be delighted with my arrival, and this team does just that. I made the right choice."

In the 2012-13 season, Giovinco scored seven times in 31 "Serie A" matches and helped Turin's "Juventus" win the league championship.

In the 2013-14 season, the striker appeared only 17 times in the country's top league, starting in just 6 matches. During that time, he managed to score two goals.

This season, Giovinco began to disappoint the team's coaches even more and played seven games, starting twice from the first minutes.
