„Toronto FC“ striker Sebastian Giovinco revealed that his former team-mate in Turin's „Juventus“ club, Andrea Pirlo, was interested in the North American championship.
In recent times, there have been rumors circulating that the veteran will move to the "New York City" team, whose stadium was recently spotted.
However, Pirlo himself denied these rumors.
„He sent me a message, but it didn't happen while he's in New York“, - Giovinco told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
„He has been asking me for some time how things are going here. I told him that playing in the MLS is a great experience and he should try it.“
„However, I don't think I'm the one who convinced him to move here. I can't wait to play against him.“
Giovinco also said that he does not regret exchanging Turin for Toronto and praised the MLS organization. According to the striker, by changing a few rules, such as the salary cap, the league could become really important in the future.
