According to his assistant Steve Holland, Gareth Southgate is on the same level as "Manchester United" manager Jose Mourinho or London "Chelsea" strategist Antonio Conte.
The head coach of the England national team, without a lot of experience in top-level competitions, is now trying to lead his country's footballers to the heights of the world championship.
However, he has not been able to overcome major obstacles in European competitions, and the English even suffered a shocking loss to Iceland.
"Gareth meets a lot of criteria that the best coaches I have worked with also meet," said Holland, who spent previous years at London's "Chelsea" club.
"I worked with Mourinho, Ancelotti, Benitez, Conte... It was an incredible environment."
"All the coaches I have worked with have different qualities, different strengths and weaknesses, but they all have one thing in common - they know very clearly how their instructions should be carried out."
"Gareth very clearly states what he wants, and he has been like that from the very beginning."
Holland admitted that it was Southgate's ambitions that attracted him to work with the national team.
