Long-time German national team footballer Sami Khedira announced his retirement. "The time has come to say goodbye. It is never easy to accept decisions that essentially change life, but sometimes it is simply necessary. This Saturday I will play my last match in my career. It has been an honor to play for the most famous clubs in the world, contribute to the trophies won, and, of course, make history for Germany in the 2014 World Cup," wrote S. Khedira on his social media account. The 34-year-old midfielder defended the honor of clubs such as Madrid's "Real" and Turin's "Juventus" during his career, and last summer he moved to Berlin's "Hertha". S. Khedira played 77 matches for the German national team.
