London's "Arsenal" owner Stan Kroenke claims that giving in to pressure and sacking coach Arsene Wenger would have been easy, and he made the right decision.
Last season, the "Gunners" failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in two decades, prompting Wenger's critics among the fanbase to speak out even louder.
Nevertheless, the contract with the Frenchman was ultimately extended for two more seasons, although this news was not well-received by everyone.
"Arsene is strong, he is focused, and I think he really showed all of that," Kroenke told the Daily Mirror.
"We always evaluate the situation and need to look at all factors. However, when you make such decisions, you weigh many different factors and hope that you weigh them correctly and ultimately make the right decision. I think that's exactly what we did."
Kroenke definitely does not believe that frequent changes of coaches are beneficial for teams.
"It is easy to change coaches and people do it all the time. However, the hardest thing is to repeat success and remain competitive," Kroenke added.
"You have to look at it with a clear head, calmly and thinking about the long term, not the short term. The easy answer is that doing something is easy. It is harder not to do something."
At the moment, the capital's footballers are in the same fifth place in the "Premier" league this season.
