Midway through last season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who took the helm at Manchester United, is not going through the best period, and most betting companies see the Norwegian as one of the most likely to lose his job.
However, it seems that the players themselves have a somewhat different opinion. Not long ago, David De Gea stood up for the coach, and now Scott McTominay, speaking to The Mirror, claimed that O. G. Solskjaer is the right man to lead the "Red Devils" to victories.
"A new coach always needs time. It never happens that suddenly everything falls into place. Everyone knew that it would take time to find a proper replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson, but I believe that Ole is that man.
Football clubs always go through different eras and everyone faces a transitional period. That's what we are experiencing now," said S. McTominay.
"There must be continuity in the club. Nowadays, teams fire coaches without substantial reasons and without thinking about the direction the club will take in the next five or six years. Solskjaer definitely has a plan for both the short and long term, and when you have such a coach, it's important to support him," added the midfielder.
