Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was satisfied with the team's performance in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and stated that they were clearly superior to Paris Saint-Germain.
Yesterday, Real Madrid eliminated PSG in Paris from further competition in the Champions League - the "whites" won the first leg with a score of 3-1, and advanced to the quarter-finals with a combined score of 5-2.
S. Ramos said that each player on the field had their own tasks, they stuck to them properly, which led to such a result.
"Zidane's instructions were very good - our high pressing caused them a lot of problems. He is the person who sees us every day in training and makes the best decisions," - the team captain praised the coach.
"Our positioning on the field was perfectly chosen by the coach. We all knew what system we would use against them. We knew how to press them, how to take the ball in their half, so we wouldn't give space to their wings and we gained such an advantage because of it.
"We knew perfectly well that this match against PSG was a great opportunity to show that we are still capable of achieving such victories in our favorite tournament. Madrid is back - we regain confidence in ourselves," - continued the captain.
S. Ramos did not miss the opportunity to poke at Kylian Mbappe, who before the quarter-finals said that PSG would show their true face to the whole world, but they did not succeed in doing so from the positive side.
"I think they sent a message, but the content is not always good," - reiterated S. Ramos, who shined in the match.
