Madriddo "Real" captain Sergio Ramos scored a goal in the King's Cup quarterfinals against his former team's goal, but after asking the fans for forgiveness, he received improper gestures and shouts from the "Sevilla" team fans.
In the return quarterfinal match, "Real" only managed to tie and reach an undefeated match record thanks to a miracle. S. Ramos scored the second goal for the team, making the score 2-3. The captain of the "Whites" scored from the penalty spot in a "panenka" style, but with this shot he did not intend to show disrespect.
At the Sevilla stadium, there were shouts insulting S. Ramos's mother. The "Real" captain could not understand the fans' behavior after the match, as he has great respect for the Sevilla club, even though he is the captain of the Spanish vice champions.
"I didn't mean to offend anyone - I even apologized to the Sevilla goalkeeper after the goal," said S. Ramos. "A certain section of the fans made inappropriate comments about my mother from the very first minute."
"Sevilla will more or less always be my home. I am the captain of Real and defend the honor of my team. I have always told my friends that on the day of my death I want to be buried with two flags - the clubs of Real and Sevilla."
"Of course, I would like a different reaction from the Sevilla fans, but that's football. I don't understand why I am being disappointed. Ivan Rakitic and Dani Alves have scored goals against the Sevilla goal, but they did not receive such reactions from the fans," concluded S. Ramos.
"Real" club and its captain will play in the Spanish league on Sunday against the same opponent at the same venue.
