Madrid's "Real" captain Sergio Ramos once again led his team forward, but the 30-year-old defender does not take all the laurels for himself and does not consider himself a hero.
In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League, Madrid's "Real" once again defeated "Napoli" with a score of 3-1 and advanced to the next stage. The "Whites" conceded the first goal and had a very difficult first half, but S. Ramos made it easier for "Real" when he scored two goals at the beginning of the second half and the visitors took the lead.
After the match, S. Ramos stated that the team did not play well, especially in the first half, but in the second half, the team from the Spanish capital showed character and fought for a well-deserved spot in the quarterfinals.
"I am very happy because we achieved the goal we set. This match was special to me because it was my 100th game with 'Real' in Europe. I am glad that I was able to score a few goals and contribute to reaching the next stage," said S. Ramos.
"It was a dangerous match where mistakes could determine everything. We didn't play our game in the first half, so 'Napoli' caused us a lot of problems. We need to carefully consider what we did wrong in the first half and try not to make such mistakes again.
"I heard that last month I was fantastic, but last week I received a lot of criticism, so these two goals should not make me a hero of the team again. We fight for a better result as a team," S. Ramos concluded.
