Budapest's "Ferencvaros" football team took an historic ticket from Marijampolė's "Sūduva", but the entry into the group stage of the UEFA Europa League was no less important moment for the Hungarians in the club's history.
The "Ferencvaros" team returns to European football after 15 years. The team's head coach Sergei Rebrov admitted that this victory means a lot.
“People have been waiting for these moments for 15 years. It's a wonderful feeling and a great achievement. I think we deserve to play in the group stage and now eagerly await the draws. We will be ready for anyone,” - quoted the strategist by 15min.
After promising to attack more in the first matches, S. Rebrov was pleased with his team's performance, but also did not forget to praise "Sūduva".
“I am very happy with my boys, who had to rectify the situation twice in these matches. I was pleased that we were strong both psychologically and physically. We played against a very good team, with whom it is very difficult to compete. It required luck, and it was on our side,” - added the Ukrainian.
The "Ferencvaros" club will find out their opponents in the Europa League today at 2 p.m.
