Madrid's "Real" strategist Santiago Solari said at a press conference on Saturday what the UEFA Champions League winners' fans least wanted to hear for the third time in a row.
On Thursday, "Real" lost points in the postponed "La Liga" match against "Villarreal" when Santi Cazorla extended the draw at the end of the game. After this match, "Real" in fourth place fell even farther behind the leaders, with a seven-point deficit.
The "White" team will face "Real Sociedad" on Sunday, where only three points will satisfy the fans. However, as S. Solari himself claims, they should not be discouraged when playing draw games.
"It is a very competitive league, so we cannot underestimate the draws," S. Solari said boldly at the press conference.
"We have one of the most fantastic leagues where every team plays good football and has enough talent to punish any opponent. Of course, we want to win, and in front of Villareal, we played a really good first half. We will try to get three points in the next match," continued the Argentine.
Later, S. Solari decided to praise himself and the team, as they were able to climb from ninth place to fourth: "It is most important in competitions not to stop climbing. Climbing from ninth to fourth place was difficult, but we cannot stop there, we have a long way ahead. It will be a great opportunity to see our character."
Last year in this season stage, Madrid's "Real" team fell eight points behind the leader "Barcelona," so this season does not promise anything good for the European champions.
