Samuel Umtiti revealed to his country's media that this summer he did not contact any European club.
Last season, the French defender, who played little due to injuries, was linked with a departure from the Barcelona team. There were rumors in the media that he would join London's Arsenal, but the player himself just laughed off such reports.
"To be honest, I can't imagine where the reports about me arriving at Arsenal came from," Umtiti told Canal +.
"That night, I received messages from my friends asking if I was really going to Arsenal. I told them that I regretted it, but I am staying at Barca.
"I still don't know if my agent spoke with Arsenal. I told him that I am not interested in any offers this summer and there is no point in talking about it.
"My childhood dream was to play for Barca. Last season was the worst in my career because I couldn't play due to injuries," the defender continued.
During the summer, there were also talks that Umtiti could be part of Neymar's deal, but the Frenchman just laughed off those rumors.
"I still can't find where those talks came from. I found it funny," the player added.
