S. Umtiti: I showed my love for "Barcelona" club

Samuel Umtiti calmed the Barcelona fans, stating that he emotionally deflected the opponent's goal into their own net to show how much he loves the team.

Let's remind that S. Umtiti's future in the Barcelona team is uncertain. His contract specifies a mere 50 million euros buyout clause, which "Manchester United" is ready to activate in the summer. The player wants a higher salary within the Catalan ranks, but the club does not agree to his conditions, leading to rumors about his departure.

On Wednesday, Barcelona defeated Roma 4-1 with S. Umtiti on the team. The defender did not score a goal, but significantly contributed to the opponent sending the ball into their own net. After that goal, S. Umtiti pointed to the Barcelona club emblem as if sending a message that he wants to stay there.

"It wasn't a unique celebration - I wanted to show how much I love this club," said the Frenchman. "I don't have much else to say about it."

"I just want to play. I always try to push myself to the maximum, and that is the most important thing for me. Of course, it's a great honor to compete in such a club.

"There is a lot of information in the media, some of it is correct, and some is not," added S. Umtiti.
