"Saint Etienne" upset PSG with a draw (VIDEO)

On Friday evening, the fourth round of the "Ligue 1" championship began. The defending champion "Paris Saint-Germain" faced "Saint-Etienne" in the first match.

Unai Emery's players sought revenge after a defeat in the previous round against "Monaco", but it was definitely not easy for them.

The opponents prevented the Parisians from creating effective attacks for a long time - they performed less than 10 shots on goal throughout the match.

Interestingly, in this match, Edinson Cavani only appeared after a substitution. Jese Rodriguez was in the attacking position from the first minutes, but in the second half, Angel Di Maria took his place. Meanwhile, the Uruguayan striker was on the field for just over 20 minutes.

However, it seemed that his services would not be needed by the PSG team, as the only goal of the capital's eleven was scored by Lucas Moura, hitting the net from the penalty spot just after his appearance on the green field. The penalty was earned by Blaise Matuidi.

As the PSG fans were already celebrating the victory, the "Parc des Princes" stadium was surprised - Robert Beric managed to score the equalizer in the last moments of the match.

So, the champions of the previous season were forced to settle for a fought-out point.

Result:

"Paris Saint-Germain" 1 - 1 "Saint-Etienne"

[1-0] 67' Lucas Moura (from the penalty spot)

[1-1] 90' Robert Beric
