Salgado to "Chelsea"? © EuroFootball.com

London owner, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, continues to try to attract stars from Madrid to his team. This time, his target is "Real" defender Michel Salgado.

Last year, the Spanish national team member extended his contract with the royal club, which should be valid until 2009.

However, the Spanish sports newspaper "AS" claims that Abramovich is not going to give up and offers Salgado a five-year contract with "Chelsea" club, where he would earn 4 million pounds sterling a year (almost 21 million litas).

Even the fact that in Salgado's contract there is a buyout clause of 40 million pounds sterling (about 208 million litas), for which "Real" would have to agree to sell the 27-year-old defender, does not deter the London club.
