On Friday, news agencies reported that "Santos" rejected Madrid's offer of 18 million US dollars to sell the club's star Robinho from the Brazil national team.
Although "Santos" president Marcelo Teixeira wants 50 million US dollars for Robinho, "Real" hopes to acquire the young Brazilian star for a lower amount, according to the Spanish sports newspaper "Marca".
"That amount is unreal, it definitely won't happen. There is no club in the world that would pay such a sum," - quoted the player's agent Wagner Ribeiro from the Brazilian news agency "Efe".
Ribeiro stated that Robinho "has already agreed with Madrid's "Real" and M. Teixeira should allow the player to go to Europe".
"We said that Robinho really wants to play in Spain, but M. Teixeira claimed he wants Robinho to stay for another year. But it wouldn't be good for "Santos" to have an unhappy player," - said W. Ribeiro.
Robinho himself is not stubborn: when asked where he would like to play in the Brazil national team, the 21-year-old forward said: "I like to play, and the position is not important. If one day I end up in Madrid, it definitely won't be a problem."
