One of the outsiders of the Italian championship, the club "Parma" fired Silvio Baldini from the position of head coach on Monday. This decision was made after another failure in the league - this time they lost 2-0 to "Livorno".

The vacant position of coach was filled by 59-year-old Pietro Carmignani, who has been the assistant of the current club director Arigo Sacchi for a long time, and worked in this capacity at "Milan", "Atletico" clubs, as well as the Italian national team.

As head coach in 1999, Carmignani led "Livorno", then playing in Serie C1, and in 2002, midway through the season, he replaced the dismissed D.Passarella in the "Parma" team and then won the Italian Cup with the team.

"Parma", which has experienced one of the worst starts to the season in the club's history, has only collected 12 points in 15 rounds, sharing the penultimate place with "Siena" and only surpassing the absolute outsider "Atalanta" team. On Thursday, the new coach faces a test in the important UEFA Cup match against "Besiktas".
