On Friday evening in Zurich, it was announced that Swiss Sepp Blatter will lead FIFA for another four years. After the first round of voting, S. Blatter failed to secure two-thirds of the votes and a second round of voting was awaited, when Jordanian Prince Ali bin al-Hussein announced his withdrawal from the competition.

In the first round of voting, Sepp Blatter received 133 votes, Ali bin al-Hussein - 73. Three ballots were spoiled.

In order for a candidate to win in the first round, they needed to secure two-thirds (140) of the voters' votes. If this is not achieved, a second round is announced.

In the second round, a simple majority (more than 50 percent of the votes) is enough to win.

However, the second vote did not take place. Prince Ali thanked for the support and announced his withdrawal from the competition.
