Scandal in Russia: Scheduled Matches Await on Friday?

Rusian football is brewing scandal - it is believed that Friday's match between "Terek" and "Ural" teams is predetermined.

"Ural", currently in the tenth place of the league table, will host the visitors from Grozny, who are considered "unequivocal favorites" by the betting offices.

Last May, "Terek" lost a match at home against "Ural" with a score of 1-3, allowing the latter to remain in the Russian "Premier" league.

However unbelievable it may sound, this weekend "Ural" promises to "repay" the guests for their help in the previous season and intentionally lose the match.

There are many reasons to believe this, as some betting offices probably have information about fixed matches. The odds for "Ural" are even 6.

Under normal circumstances, no betting company would offer such high odds for the 10th place home team playing against a table neighbor.

However, the Russian "Premier" league claims in an official statement that this odd offer for the match "coincides with the standard practice." At the same time, the league says that experts will monitor the match.
