The Bundesliga club officially announced that Alexander Nubel will no longer represent the team after this season.
The 23-year-old German will become a free agent, as he did not agree to extend his contract with "Schalke".
"I am convinced that Alex will give his all for the team until the end of next summer, and from the next season we will continue our journey without Nubel," said the team's sports director Jochen Schneider.
In the Gelsenkirchen team, A. Nubel managed to play 35 matches, in which he kept a clean sheet 11 times.
