"Schalke" representative: Draxler will not go anywhere

Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke" board chairman Clemens Tonnies assures that Julian Draxler will not move anywhere in January.

The German club is currently negotiating with "Manchester City" about the transfer of defender Matija Nastasic, which fuels speculation that Draxler could be included in the deal.

However, Tonnies says that the midfielder is in the best place to fulfill his potential.

"We are not considering the possibility that he could leave us in the near future," the chairman told Sport Bild. "Schalke" is the place where he has the best conditions to improve, and I told him that personally."

"I agree that Julian has significantly improved his skills and especially his personality recently."

"He was recently stopped by an injury, so, like every young footballer in such a situation, he played worse for a while. However, Julian will have a fantastic career."

This season Draxler played 12 matches for "Schalke".
