The club will most likely try to acquire England youth team and club defender Stewart Downing during the winter break. Manchester club plans to add their team defender Phill Neville to the deal amount.
The possibility of the deal is somewhat complicated by the fact that Middlesbrough highly values their young "gem" and recently signed a new long-term contract with him. Man Utd coach Sir Alex Ferguson has been interested in this player since last season.
