It seems that the European Football Championship held in France last month helped players improve - how else to call today's friendly football matches, which probably saw a record number of goals scored. In just three matches in Italy, 48 goals were scored.
Altogether, 39 club teams played friendly matches in Europe today, with teams of different abilities competing. Italian teams stood out the most. The representatives of the Italian team "Roma" played their friendly match first on Wednesday, managing to defeat the "Pinzolo" club 16:0. 11 players scored goals.
However, half an hour later, the "Lazio" club from Rome achieved an incredible result. Representatives of the Italian capital defeated the "Auronzo" footballers 19:0.
The first goal was scored in the 2nd minute, followed by goals in the 8th, 9th, 15th, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 30th, 36th, 41st, 53rd, 55th, 59th, 65th, 69th, 78th, 82nd, 85th and 86th minutes. 11 players scored goals.
The goal marathon in Italy was finished by Verona's "Chievo", who defeated the third division club "Top 22" with a score of 12:1.
The German team Schalke 04 from Gelsenkirchen also performed solidly, crushing Eintracht Rheine 9:1. The team "Atalanta", however, appeared more modestly, defeating the small-town team "Rappresentativa Val Seriana" with a score of 7:1.
As they prepare for the season, "Liverpool" defeated the "Fleetwood Town" club 5:0.
