The Netherlands national team defender Clarence Seedorf will not be able to help his team in the first European Championship match on June 15 against Germany.
The player suffered a calf injury in a friendly match against Ireland. At that time, there was little hope that he would recover in time. However, later examinations revealed that the tendon was not torn, but sufficiently injured - Seedorf will be unable to play for at least a week.
National team coach Dick Advocaat confirmed this: "He will definitely not be able to play for a week. At the moment, we can only substitute the player if his injury is so severe that he would have to miss the entire tournament."
