FIFA announced which three football strategists are vying to become the best coaches of the year. The list includes last year's award winner Zinadine Zidane, as well as Didier Deschamps and Zlatko Dalić, who faced each other in the final of this year's World Cup. Z. Zidane could become FIFA Coach of the Year for the second year in a row, after leading Real Madrid to the top of the Champions League for three consecutive years. Last year, Z. Zidane shared the podium with Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri. Meanwhile, D. Deschamps made it into the top three for his achievements with the French national team. He led the French to the World Cup title for the first time since 1998. Under his leadership, the French team defeated Z. Dalić's Croatian team in the final, surprising much of the world by making it to the top two. The best coach of the year will be announced on September 24th.
