In the Africa Cup of Nations, the biggest surprise happened. Morocco, who finished 4th in the World Cup and was considered a favorite at AFCON, lost in the quarterfinals to South Africa with a score of 0:2.
The winning goal was scored by Evidence Magkopa in the 57th minute. In the 84th minute, one of Morocco's leaders Achraf Hakimi missed a penalty kick, hitting the upper goal frame.
In the 90+4 minute, Sofyane Amrabat received a red card. This decision remained unchanged even after a VAR review. Just a minute later, Teboho Mokoena doubled the score and sent South Africa to the quarterfinals.
In the next stage, South Africa will face the Green Eagles team.
