Preparing for a sensational step: coach Sir Alex Ferguson would like to see London's midfielder Frank Lampard in his team.

According to the "Daily Mail", the Englishman is not satisfied with sitting on the bench frequently this season, so he would seriously consider the offer received.

The 33-year-old footballer's contract with "Chelsea" will expire after the next season, so "Man Utd" would have to pay a relatively small compensation. However, it is unclear whether the London club will agree to sell one of its leaders to a fierce rival.

Ferguson was interested in Lampard already in 2001, when the London "West Ham" midfielder clashed with "Chelsea". In one interview, the Scotsman called the midfielder a "special person".

This season in the Premier League, the footballer scored eight goals in 18 matches.
