After the first rounds of the "TOPsport A league," the Šiauliai team has welcomed a new face – a forward from Serbia, Milan Djokić, who will don the yellow and black jersey.
The 27-year-old footballer spent most of his career in his native Serbia, where he represented clubs in both the top league and the second tier. He grew up in the youth system of the Subotica club "Spartak" and later played for "Zlatibor" in Čajetina, "TSC" in Bačka Topola, and "Dubočica" in Leskovac.
The latest member of the yellow and black team had also begun his career as a legionnaire before, playing in the top league of North Macedonia for "Bregalnica Štip," and he arrives in the City of the Sun from Karaganda's "Shakhter," which competed in the top league of Kazakhstan last season. While in the latter, the forward scored 2 goals and provided as many assists in 12 matches played.
"I am happy to have become a member of the 'Šiauliai' team. From the very first day, I realized that I had joined a large and well-organized club, and the team welcomed me very warmly, so I am glad to be part of a well-formed collective. After my first agent's call and the club's offer, I spoke with the coach, and he shared with me his clear vision of what he expects from me. Our opinions matched, so I quickly decided to accept the offer and come to the City of the Sun. I can promise the fans of this team that I will give my all and do everything to meet your expectations. Let's go, Šiauliai!," said the team’s new reinforcement, M. Djokić.
The Serbian will wear the jersey marked with number 97 in the upcoming season.
