Serbia will ask UEFA to allow the hooligan-disrupted European Championship qualifying match against Italy to be replayed, Reuters reports.
The match in Genoa on Tuesday only lasted 7 minutes, as away fans started throwing pyrotechnic devices onto the pitch. Before and after the game, they wreaked havoc in the streets - engaging in clashes with locals and police.
"On October 18, we will meet with UEFA President Michel Platini and request a replay," said Tomislav Karadzic, president of the Serbian Football Association.
Dozens of hooligans were detained, and 16 people were taken to the hospital due to injuries sustained during the conflicts. Among them were two police officers.
