"Serie A" clubs agree on a €5 million rescue plan for "Parma"

In the highest Italian league, teams agreed to collectively loan 5 million euros to the bankrupt "Parma" club so that it could finish the season. From "gialloblu" because of unpaid wages, points were already deducted at the beginning of the season, and currently the club's debts amount to over 100 million euros. "Parma" did not appear in the last two "Serie A" championship matches - the home match against "Udinese" was canceled because there were not enough funds to pay the referees, and the away match against "Udinese" was postponed because the players who were not receiving their salaries refused to step onto the field. The club's situation remains very poor, but during the meeting of the leaders of Italian championship teams on Friday, it was decided by vote to save the "Parma" team by allocating 5 million euros. Sixteen clubs voted in favor, three abstained, and representatives of "Cesena" voted against. The only condition - "Parma" must play at least one match before the bankruptcy case hearing on March 19. The next match for the Parma players should take place on Sunday against "Atalanta" in Bergamo. They are currently 13 points away from survival in the league.
