After the national team breaks, Italian football is in full swing. Today seven matches of the national championship are played.
The club striving to play in Europe, Atalanta, achieved a great victory against "Genoa" before. For Gian Piero Gasperini's pupils, it was important not only to fight for three points but also to significantly improve the goal difference.
In the first match, Andrea Conti scored an impressive goal, and after playing just over half an hour, the guests doubled their lead from the penalty spot through Alejandro Gomez.
The match ended decisively in the 60th minute after Mauricio Pinilla was sent off. Gomezas, who scored two more goals before the end of the match, scored a hat-trick, while defender Mattia Caldara added one more goal.
Meanwhile, the "Milan" club, occupying seventh place, missed the opportunity to temporarily overtake their principal rival "Inter" and played a draw away to "Pescara."
Although the "rossoneri" dominated statistically, they failed to recover from Gabriel Paletta's own goal. Mario Pasalic equalized the score in the 41st minute, but the guests had to settle for just one point.
In the evening, the most important match of the weekend awaited between third-placed "Napoli" and the league leader Turin's "Juventus."
The "bianconeri" already took the lead away in the seventh minute when Sami Khedira combined well with Miralem Pjanic to score.
However, despite scoring very early, the "Juventus" players were not very dangerous in the attacks and only had a few shots on goal. On the other hand, the home team did not fear their titled opponents and tried to turn the match to their advantage.
"Napoli" managed to do this by playing an hour - shortly after Jose Callejon's disallowed goal, Marek Hamsik equalized.
The southern Italian club sought victory, and in the 64th minute, Dries Mertens hit the post. However, this was perhaps the most dangerous episode near the "Juventus" goal, and the match ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw, which is favorable for the second-placed "Roma" club.
