Serious application: "Liverpool" took care of "Man City" at home

On Sunday at 18:30 in the evening, the 12th round matches of the English Premier League took place, which sparked perhaps the biggest interest in this season. At "Anfield" stadium, two title contenders – the teams of "Liverpool" and "Manchester City" – clashed face to face. The hosts, from the very beginning of the match, celebrated victory with a score of 3:1 and solidified their positions at the top of the league table. Before the match, there was a huge buzz - the cost of these matches in terms of the title was very expensive for both clubs. The start of the meeting was particularly intense - in the 6th minute, "Liverpool" gained an advantage after a fantastic Fabinho shot, but before the Brazilian's shot, the "Man City" team had a dangerous attack in the opponent's penalty area. After Bernardo Silva's shot, the ball hit Trent Alexander-Arnold's hand, but the match referee Michael Oliver decided that this incident was not worth a penalty kick and the fantastic goal of "Liverpool" stood. "Man City" struggled to accept this decision, but the match continued and the visitors from Manchester played well with the ball. However, in the 13th minute, the "Reds" once again went on a quick attack after a combination of passes, Andrew Robertson sent the ball from the edge, and Mohamed Salah, free from the opponents and in front of Claudio Bravo, headed the ball into the goal. During the remaining time of the first half, no more goals were scored, although there were opportunities at both ends. At the beginning of the second half, it was again tragically unsuccessful for the "City" - in the 51st minute, Jordan Henderson made a pass into the penalty area, and there, just like M. Salah, Sadio Mane, who was free from the opponents, headed the third goal into the "Man City" net. In the 78th minute, Bernardo Silva "caught" the only goal for "Man City", and shortly after, Raheem Sterling created a good opportunity to score the second, but the score remained 3:1 until the end of the match. With their 11th victory of the season, the "Liverpool" team maintains its leader position - 8 points ahead of "Leicester" and "Chelsea" teams, which after the failure of "Man City" ended up in 2nd and 3rd places. "Man City", having a 9-point deficit against "Liverpool", falls to fourth place. Result: "Liverpool" 3 - 1 "Man City" 6' [1 - 0] Fabinho 13' [2 - 0] M. Salah 51' [3 - 0] S. Mane 78' [3 - 1] B.
