The 2026 World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the USA is expected to be impressive. On Sunday, several details about this upcoming soccer event were announced.
First of all, the tournament opening will take place in Mexico on June 11. The opening will be hosted at the "Azteca" stadium, which can accommodate 87,523 people. This stadium is located in Mexico and belongs to the "Club America" club. It is the eighth largest stadium in the world in terms of seating capacity.
The first match in Canada will be played in the city of Toronto on June 12. The seating capacity of the "BMO Field" stadium will expand to 45,736 during the tournament, currently accommodating exactly 30,000 spectators per game.
The tournament in the United States will debut with a match in Los Angeles, at the "Inglewood" stadium. There are hopes that in 2026, it will be able to host more than 100,000 fans (currently 70,240).
Finally, the final will be held at the "MetLife" stadium in New Jersey, which can accommodate 82,000 enthusiasts.
The first ever 48-team World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the summer of 2026.
