Vilnius' "Žalgiris" has never seen such a rival since its reestablishment - in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, the green-and-whites will face the Spanish football giant "Sevilla" in the third round.
In the second round, "Sevilla" faced no opposition from the Hungarian team "Ujpest" - a victory with an overall score of 7-1. Vilnius' team had to put in much more effort in their pair - in the return match against "Vaduz", a draw was achieved, but the goal scored in Vilnius opened the doors to the next stage.
Lithuanian football fans were rooting for "Žalgiris", as Sevilla, known for their beautiful and attacking football, will come to Lithuania.
Such a qualification is not typical for the Andalusian team, as last season they eliminated the most valuable club in the world, "Manchester United", from the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
The draw determined that "Žalgiris" will play the first match in Seville. The match will take place next week - on August 9th.
At the LFF Stadium, where a larger audience than ever is expected, "Sevilla" will face "Žalgiris" on August 16th. The match will start at 8 p.m.
