On Saturday evening, the first match of the Spanish Super Cup took place, where the country's champion and last season's Spanish King's Cup winner met.

The guests, Barcelona players, were the first to take the lead when in the 20th minute of the match, forward Zlatan Ibrahimović scored a goal after a precise pass from defender Maxwell.

Throughout the game, "Barca" practically controlled the ball, but the hosts counterattacked dangerously and in the 62nd minute, Luis Fabiano equalized the score.

Sevilla increased the pace and after eleven minutes, Frederic Kanoute put his team ahead. Just ten minutes later, the Malian player scored again after a pass from Diego Perotti.

"Barca" was not ready to give up and tried to at least soften the score. The guests' leader Lionel Messi also scored a goal, but it was disallowed due to offside.

The second clash between the teams will take place in Barcelona.
