Sevilla" won the lawsuit against the overweight football player

“Sevilla” team celebrated victory in a special court.

“La Liga” club in 2018 acquired “Rennes” defender Joris Gnagnon for 13.5 million euros, with whom they signed a five-year contract.

However, the Frenchman turned out to be a big disappointment and played only 17 matches in the team. In 2021, “Sevilla” decided to release the player, causing his anger.

The Spaniards blamed J. Gnagnon for lack of discipline and professionalism, as well as for gaining excessive weight.

In the CAS court, the player was left with nothing to argue - the judge supported the club, stating that taking care of his weight is a professional duty.

As foreign media noted, the 27-year-old J. Gnagnon did not intend to rest on his laurels and moved to the “Saint-Etienne” club. The footballer, who had 20 kilograms of excess weight, was even mistaken for a security guard.

In 2022, the player was released and has not played in any matches since.
