On March 31, at the meeting of SFL club leaders and founders, the project of the new SFL season was presented and the new league regulations were approved.

You can find the new league regulations here.

Developing the "Sunday Football League," the VŠĮ "Sunday Football League" was founded, with former SFL chief referee Paulius Malžinskas elected as its president. His duties as chief referee will now be taken over by another highly qualified referee, Valdemaras Kundrotas.

"The league is negotiating with several well-known companies to become official sponsors of SFL, but until official contracts are signed, we cannot mention them," said SFL president P. Malžinskas.

Starting from April 20, a new website dedicated to the "Sunday Football League" will be launched at www.sfl.lt. All news related to the league will be announced there.

The "Sunday Football League" will kick off with cup matches on April 22-23. The SFL Cup was created for two main reasons - to increase the number of games for the teams and to allow teams from different divisions to compete against each other. The cup will follow a knockout system.

The actual matches of the "Sunday Football League" will start on April 29-30. The schedule of the league matches will be announced later.

Due to the increased number of teams in the league and more games to be played, and also because outdoor stadiums are not yet in satisfactory condition, the first SFL rounds will take place at "Sportimos" arena (Ąžuolyno g. 5), and games will be played not only on Sundays but also on Saturdays. Everyone is invited to attend the matches and support the teams.

Since the "Sportimos" arena will be occupied on April 22-23, the "SFL" Cup matches will take place at the Grigiškės Stadium. The stadium rental costs will be covered by SFL.
