Steven Gerrard on Saturday experienced one of the most exciting moments of his career when fans and teammates at Liverpool's Anfield stadium held an impressive farewell to the England national team defender who represented Liverpool for 17 seasons. The 34-year-old veteran played the full 90 minutes, marking his 709th official match wearing the Liverpool kit. It was his last match at Anfield, as Liverpool will play away to Stoke City in the next round, and after the end of the English championship, S. Gerrard will move to the U.S. club Los Angeles Galaxy. Unfortunately, Liverpool lost 1-3 to Crystal Palace, ending their hopes of playing in the Champions League next season and gifting the 4th place to Manchester United. However, the crowd was emotional for other reasons. S. Gerrard came onto the pitch before the match accompanied by his three daughters and was honored by both teams. In the last minute of the match, the song "Steven Gerrard is red" echoed through the stadium. Gerrard has been Liverpool's captain since 2003 and has become a symbol of the team. He has scored 185 goals and won 10 titles.
