Italy and the entire football community were shocked by the heartbreaking news - the captain of the "Fiorentina" team, Davide Astori, was found dead in his hotel room, who turned 31 in January.
One of the hotels in Udine had accommodated the entire "Fiorentina" team, who were supposed to play against the local "Udinese" in the "Serie A" championship at 16:00 today.
It is said that the team gathered for training in the morning, but the team captain did not come out of his room. Upon opening his room door, the sad news was revealed - he showed no signs of life. It is believed that the footballer passed away in his sleep.
The match between "Udinese" and "Fiorentina" was immediately cancelled after the incident. Mourning will be declared in Italy, so most likely all the remaining round matches will not take place.
D. Astori began playing for "Fiorentina" in 2015. He has also played for "Roma", "Milan", "Cagliari" (the majority of his career) and other lesser-known clubs during his career.
