Šiauliai defeated the Panevėžys club at home

In the finish of the 34th round of the "TOPsport A League", there was a clash between "Panevėžys" and FA "Šiauliai". After a changing second half, the representatives of the Sun City celebrated a victory away, with the match ending with a score of 3:1 (1:0).

The goal against the home team came quite early – in the 7th minute during a set-piece, Davis Ikauniekas scored with a header from Mantas Kuklys' delivery into the penalty area. Shortly after, "Panevėžys" organized a response, but Aminas Benchaybas and Domantas Vaičekauskas missed their chances, while Roberto Mazanio's long-range shot failed to hit the target.

At the start of the second half, Lucas de Vega shot very close to the rectangle, and Cheikhou Diengas rattled the goalpost. In the 57th minute, the Panevėžys players, having intercepted the ball, could have equalized, but Pavle Radunovičius's kicked ball went wide.

However, the players in blue broke through the "Šiauliai" defense in the 70th minute, when Cheikhou Diengas took advantage of Egidijus Vaitkūnas's uncertainty and sent the ball into the net. A few minutes later, Linas Klimavičius could have turned the score in his team's favor, but Lukas Paukštė blocked the way.

As time went on, Vytautas Černiauskas saved a shot from Daniel Romanovski, but at the end of the match, the teams could not save themselves – after Eligijus Jankauskas's assist, D. Ikauniekas secured his double, and the final touch in the clash was added by E. Jankauskas, who caught the opposing goalkeeper unprepared.

After the end of the 34th round of the "TOPsport A League", "Šiauliai" climbed to 4th place in the standings with 42 points and a match in hand, while "Panevėžys", having absorbed the defeat, is in 7th place with 37 points.
