"TOPsport A league" underdog label is trying to shake off the tag as the Vilnius region "TransINVEST" club has secured their second consecutive victory. The championship debutants defeated FA "Šiauliai" players at home 2:0 (1:0).
In the first half, the visitors controlled the ball for longer, but created only one more threatening opportunity when Deividas Dovydaitis struck next to the goal. On the other side of the field, Ignas Kaškelevičius responded with a similar episode.
The latter "TransINVEST" player provoked a foul from Danielius Jarašius in the penalty area - Ryonosuke Ohori converted the penalty earned in the second minute of added time.
After the break, that Japanese player celebrated a brace. Chidera Henry Nwoga took the ball from an opponent in the 59th minute and made a decisive pass to R. Ohori, who shot accurately with one touch. In the middle of the second half, the Šiauliai players made their first shot on target, but Stefan Čupičius was in place.
The visitors' chances to fight for at least a point completely diminished in the 76th minute when D. Jarašius received a second yellow card and was sent off. In the remaining time, the teams did not provide fans with dangerous moments.
After this victory, the debutants moved up to 7th place with 32 points, while the Šiauliai team, with one point more, is ranked fifth.
